How and why I started designing crochet patterns
My crochet journey started in The Netherlands at age 7. I would race my brother crocheting the longest scarf EVER, using our grandmothers yarn scraps.
I again picked up crochet during Winter 2014. Using a small crochet kit I made a flower-shaped pin cushion. After some frustration, and many Youtube tutorials later, I sort of succeeded?
Being a creative at heart, I immediately wanted to design and crochet my own creatures. That was the jump start to designing my own crochet patterns. What began as a hobby eventually grew into this Yarnstructions webshop.
Anyone can learn to crochet
My goal with Yarnstructions is to make crochet patterns for every skill level. I provide dozens of pictures in each pattern. Some patterns also come with video material.
As an extra guidance for the absolute beginners I have made a free reference sheet containing many stitches and techniques.
Like many other crocheters, I do not like to sew all the small parts together. Therefore, I make an extra effort to write amigurumi patterns with little to no sewing. That makes these patterns very enjoyable and easy to crochet.
